North Rhine-Westphalia: NGG: Collective bargaining agreement in the bakery trade

Many employees in North Rhine-Westphalian bakeries will get more money in the coming year: According to the NGG, the union and employer have agreed on a new collective agreement. Specialist saleswomen receive up to 13 percent more wages.

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - There is a collective bargaining agreement in the bakery trade in North Rhine-Westphalia. From January, he envisages wage increases of between 4 and 13 percent, as reported by the Food, Enjoyment and Restaurants Union (NGG) on Friday. This was agreed after three rounds of negotiations with the Westphalia-Lippe bakers' guild association and the Rhenish bakers' association. The term is 16 months.

According to the NGG, there are almost 3,200 bakery companies with around 57,600 employees in NRW. The union assumes that the majority of companies are bound by collective bargaining agreements and that the majority of employees will benefit from the agreement.

According to the NGG, the increase in wages consists of a percentage wage increase and a monthly inflation compensation premium. This is between 80 and 120 euros per month, depending on your professional and educational level. The bonus is spreadsheet. After the bonus expires, the wage level will remain the same.

The trade union emphasized that the increase in wages for skilled workers in sales is up to 13 percent. "A bakery saleswoman who works full-time has a good 270 euros more in her wallet at the end of the month. A young apprentice baker has an additional 170 euros a month," said NGG negotiator Helge Adolphs. The hitherto significant wage gap between the bakery and the sales counter will be reduced with the conclusion.

The trade union and employer also agreed on a qualification offensive. In sales, this should give more employees the opportunity to train as specialists.
