Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The Düsseldorf district court has dropped the criminal proceedings against a 63-year-old psychiatrist for the sexual abuse of a patient without conditions. A court spokesman said on Friday.
The doctor had denied the allegations. His relationship with the now 33-year-old woman only came about after the end of therapy, when she was no longer his patient.
During the therapy, he warded off any approach from the patient and referred her to a colleague for further treatment, he emphasized.
The woman was due to testify on Thursday. Apparently, according to her testimony, there was not much left of the indictment, because the court dropped the proceedings due to insignificance.
