North Rhine-Westphalia: School searched for explosive devices

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - A 23-year-old from Solingen kept the police in suspense in Düsseldorf on Wednesday night. The man appeared at the main station in front of the federal police station, a spokeswoman reported.

When officers searched him, they found suspicious items in his pocket, prompting them to call in a bomb expert. It was initially unclear whether it was actually an explosive device.

After corresponding statements by the mentally disturbed man, the Düsseldorf police decided to search a secondary school with sniffer dogs before school started. However, nothing dangerous was discovered. The "Bild" newspaper had previously reported on the incident.
