North Rhine-Westphalia: shots and manslaughter: dispute escalated

Duisburg (dpa / lnw) - A dispute between three men in Duisburg escalated with several shots and the use of a manslayer. First, a dispute broke out between two men aged 34 and 28 in a driveway, as the Duisburg public prosecutor and the police announced on Monday. In the course of the conflict on Friday, the older man's 43-year-old father-in-law is said to have interfered and hit the 28-year-old with a blackjack. He is said to have pulled out a pistol and pulled the trigger four times.

Two cartridges hit the father-in-law in the leg and he was taken to the hospital. According to the police and the public prosecutor's office, none of the men were life-threateningly injured, and there was initially no further information on the course of events and backgrounds. The 28-year-old, who was wanted, was temporarily arrested. The public prosecutor's office assumes self-defense, which is why he was not brought before the magistrate. He is being investigated for violating the Weapons Act. The 43-year-old opponent is also being investigated for dangerous bodily harm.
