North Rhine-Westphalia: suspected attempted murder: public investigation

Aachen (dpa / lnw) - After a violent attack on a man in Aachen, the police and public prosecutor's office launched a public search for the suspected perpetrator who fled. The suspect knocked down a 42-year-old man during an argument and kicked him several times in the head, the police said on Friday. The public prosecutor classified the crime as attempted murder.

Passers-by would have separated the two from each other during the violent argument that had already occurred in June and prevented the alleged perpetrator from further kicking. Before the police arrived, the stranger was able to escape, the statement said.

The 42-year-old suffered only minor injuries in the attack. However, since the witnesses had to actively prevent the suspect from attacking, the public prosecutor classified the act as attempted murder. Because the investigations have so far not led to the unknown, the Aachen district court has now issued a public search order.
