North Rhine-Westphalia: Trees bent over after a storm on the Lower Rhine and in the Sauerland

Alpen/Schermbeck/Altena (dpa/lnw) - As a result of the storm, trees in North Rhine-Westphalia fell on Saturday night and fell on roads. In Alpen (Wesel district), fire brigade forces sawed trunks and branches in two places that blocked road connections, as was reported. Also in Schermbeck (Wesel district) the fire brigade had to clear streets of trees.

It was also stormy in the Sauerland on Saturday night. In Altena, several fallen trees blocked a path between a housing estate and an industrial area in the morning. The fire brigade was on site for a longer period of time.
