The State Chancellery announced on Sunday that the CDU politician wanted to use this to honor her special commitment to democracy and peace in the world. There are currently 545 soldiers and 28 police officers deployed abroad.

"Our country is proud of you," Wüst wrote in the Christmas greeting to the powers that he praised as the "guarantors of the values ​​that our country stands for". The total of 703 packages were sent to locations around the world with the support of the Bundeswehr field post. The 130-man crew of the frigate North Rhine-Westphalia also received parcels. In addition to the Christmas card from the Prime Minister, the emergency services can also look forward to speculoos from their homeland, according to the State Chancellery.
