North Rhine-Westphalia: Young people blow up cigarette machines in Paderborn

Paderborn (dpa / lnw) - young people blew up a cigarette machine in Paderborn and fled undetected. Neighbors heard a loud bang on Sunday night, observed the young people and alerted the police, a statement said. The officials found explosive devices that indicated illegal firecrackers. The machine was destroyed. However, the hole made by the explosion was not large enough to remove cigarettes or cash. The blast wave also damaged the shop window of a neighboring supermarket and the display of a pharmacy. Police are asking witnesses to come forward.
