"Obsessed with Adolf Hitler": Kanye West closes his private school

After violent public reactions to Kanye West's anti-Semitic derailments, the rapper closed his private Christian school in California. The director of the facility announced this in an e-mail to the parents. An ex-employee reports that Ye was obsessed with Adolf Hitler.

Rapper Kanye West has closed his Donda Academy private school in Simi Valley, California. This was initially reported by the "Hollywood Unlocked" portal. Accordingly, the decision is directly related to his anti-Semitic statements in recent weeks and the problems that have arisen as a result. So far, however, the decision is only temporary.

According to the report, the school's principal, Jason Angell, emailed all of the students' parents notifying them of the closure. The letter states that Donda Academy "will be closed effective immediately for the remainder of the 22/23 school year, at the discretion of our founder."

However, the gates are scheduled to reopen in September next year. "We are confident that our students will continue to develop as the next generation of creative innovators, influencers and academic leaders," Angell said. Kanye West is also said to have confirmed the message in an Instagram post that has since been deleted.

West founded the Christian facility for preschoolers through twelfth grade just this year. She was named after Kanye West's mother, Donda West, who died in 2007. A few weeks ago, a Jewish teacher resigned after West's anti-Semitic tirades. The school had around 100 students, half of whom received scholarships.

Kanye West has been attracting negative attention lately. He appeared at the Yeezy show at Paris Fashion Week in a T-shirt with the inscription "White Lives Matter", which is popular with American racists. He also published anti-Semitic posts on social media. In it he wrote, among other things, that he would prepare himself for battle against the Jewish people. As a result, Instagram and Twitter restricted West's respective accounts. Most recently, he lost almost all advertising deals. Among other things, the German sporting goods manufacturer Adidas announced the cooperation.

According to CNN, Kanye West wanted to name his 2018 album after Adolf Hitler. An executive who worked for West told CNN that artist Ye created a hostile work environment in part through his "obsession" with Hitler. "He praised Hitler by saying how incredible it was that he was able to amass so much power and he spoke about all the great things that Hitler and the Nazi Party had achieved for the German people," quoted as saying CNN the man.
