Pandemic: 767 million euros in corona compensation payments for clinics

Since the beginning of the corona pandemic, the hospitals in Thuringia have received compensation payments for pandemic-related loss of income and investments totaling almost 767 million euros. This emerges from an overview by the Federal Office for Social Security as of July 15. The payments to compensate for lost income alone, which were made by mid-April, totaled around 634 million euros. In order to get capacities for the treatment of Covid 19 patients, many clinics had postponed planned, non-urgent operations during the various pandemic waves. As a result, fixed calculated income fell away.
