Ryan Tannehill: RookieWR Kyle Philips "definitely a great way runner"

A.J. has been replaced by the Titans at the top of their receiving corp. Brown and Julio Jones have been replaced by Robert Woods, Treylon Burks, and Julio Jones.

However, it is possible that the club's depth has improved for next season.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine was second on the team with 38 catches for 476 yards and four touchdowns. Kyle Philips, a UCLA graduate, was drafted by the team in the fifth round. Ryan Tannehill already likes Philips.

Tannehill stated that Kyle is a "great route runner" during the offseason program. Source: Jim Wyatt, team website. "He has some speed, some agility. [And] I'm] learning his craft as we learn our offense and see where he fits in.

"But he's definitely flashed for [me] a few times, and [I've] witnessed some good things. As he learns, I will keep the pressure on him. I believe he will continue to play if he does.

In four years at UCLA, Philips had 163 receptions of 1,821 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also caught 59 catches for 739 yard with 10 TDs. In his four seasons, Philips was also a punt returner. He averaged 19.3 yards on 26 returns and scored a pair touchdowns.

Philips stated that he is trying to get a spot on team by doing everything he can. He seems to be proud of his abilities as a pass-catcher.

Philips stated, "I know that I must prove I can win in the receiver position," Philips stated. I just need to win consistently. I think people underestimate me because of how big I am in blocking. ... I try to do the best I can and play ball.
