Saxony-Anhalt: Dead from the Bergwitzsee is a missing stand-up paddler

Bergwitz (dpa/sa) - The body found last Friday in Bergwitzsee (Wittenberg district) is the stand-up paddler who has been missing for weeks. The identity has been clarified beyond a doubt, the police said on Tuesday in Dessau-Roßlau. The 47-year-old is said to have fallen off his board into the water in mid-July and has been wanted ever since. Last Friday, fire brigade comrades discovered the body using a drone and recovered it. The Bergwitzsee is around 180 hectares in size and a popular bathing lake.
