Dessau-Roßlau (dpa/sa) - The actor and cabaret artist Dieter Hallervorden (86) opens the first season in his new theater in his hometown of Dessau today. The play "God's Curriculum Vitae" has its premiere. The program of the venue with the name "Central German Theater in the Marienkirche" promises a mixture of plays, comedies, readings and concerts, as it was said in advance. It will be designed by himself, together with actors from different genres of theatre, film and television. The theater is located in the Marienkirche, which was previously used as an event space and has been renovated.

Hallervorden was born in Dessau in 1935 and grew up in the Bauhaus city. In 2006, the city made him an honorary citizen. This Monday he will be 87 years old. In Berlin he runs the Schlosspark Theater and the Berlin cabaret "Die Wühlmäuse".
