Saxony-Anhalt: Fewer sparkling wines are imported to Saxony-Anhalt

Halle (dpa/sa) - Spanish cava, Italian prosecco, French champagne and cheaper variants: in 2021 fewer sparkling wine drinks were imported to Saxony-Anhalt. The amount was 360,824 liters and thus 18.5 percent below the value of the previous year, as announced by the State Statistical Office in Halle on Wednesday. The total value of the imported sparkling wines was therefore 2.4 million euros. A further decline is becoming apparent this year: between January and October 2022, almost 200,000 liters of sparkling wine were imported - a drop of 15.8 percent compared to the same period last year.
