Saxony-Anhalt: Regional Directorate presents report on the labor market

Halle (dpa/sa) - The regional directorate of the Federal Employment Agency will provide information on Thursday (10 a.m.) about the situation on the job market in Saxony-Anhalt in June. Experts assume that unemployment has increased, as a spokeswoman said. However, the need for skilled workers remains high. According to the regional directorate, around 73,400 unemployed were registered in Saxony-Anhalt in mid-May. That was almost 1700 fewer than in April and 9600 fewer than in the same month last year. The unemployment rate in the country was 6.7 percent in May, down from 6.8 percent in April and 7.5 percent in May 2021.
