Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - In order to promote structural change in the lignite region, Saxony-Anhalt launched the "Revierpionier" ideas competition. Applications are still possible until March 12, as the State Chancellery announced on Friday. Citizens as well as clubs, associations, schools, day care centers and other institutions are called upon to submit their own ideas for shaping structural change.
The projects should promote sustainable development under economic, ecological or social aspects within the region. Prize money totaling one million euros is available.
According to the information provided, the competition refers to the districts of Anhalt-Bitterfeld, Burgenlandkreis, Mansfeld-Südharz and the Saalekreis as well as the city of Halle.
