Möckern (dpa/sa) - When a truck crashed into a traffic jam on the A29, the truck driver suffered serious injuries. The 39-year-old was driving his truck loaded with beer in the direction of Berlin on Wednesday afternoon. Near Möckern (Jerichower Land district), he drove unbraked into a stationary truck at the end of a traffic jam at a construction site, the police said on Wednesday evening.
This truck was crushed by the impact on the van of a 41-year-old standing in front of it. The pickup truck then drove into the RV of a 66-year-old, which eventually crashed into the side of another truck.
The Autobahn was still fully closed in the direction of Berlin late in the evening, as a police spokeswoman confirmed. It is still unclear how long the closure will last. The 41-year-old driver of the van and the 66-year-old camper driver were slightly injured and released after brief treatment.
