Leipzig (dpa/sn) - Customs officials discovered gold bars worth around 60,000 euros in a package at Leipzig/Halle Airport. The bars were disguised as a battery in technical devices, as announced by customs on Tuesday. During the check, which took place at the end of July, the officials confiscated a total of eight gold bars, each weighing 125 grams.
The parties involved are now being investigated on suspicion of money laundering, it said. According to Tuesday's information, the wrong batteries had been shipped in Brazil and should continue to be shipped to Hong Kong.
