Saxony: Emergency repairs for the weather vane on the Ascension Church

Dresden (dpa / sn) - The weather vane on the Ascension Church in Dresden-Leuben should be stormproof again. Otherwise it could lose its tail in the next strong wind, the Evangelical Church reported on Monday in Dresden. The 60 by 60 centimeters large, gold-plated weather vane should therefore now leave its lofty height of 75 meters and come to a metal workshop in Wurzen. The damaged rump of the rooster was discovered during a drone flight earlier this year. The reason for the damage is believed to be that the hammer has difficulty turning on the bearing.
