Leipzig (dpa/sn) - The fire brigade saved five people from the flames in a fire in an apartment building near Leipzig. They were treated at the scene for suspected smoke inhalation. Among them were two children, the police said on Monday. People were temporarily unable to return to their homes because of the fire. They stayed with relatives and friends.
The fire broke out around 1 p.m. on Sunday in an apartment on the ground floor of the house in Markkleeberg. The residents were reportedly not at home. The cause of the fire and the amount of damage caused are not yet known.
