Saxony: Günther warns of consumer uncertainty

Dresden (dpa/sn) - Saxon Energy Minister Wolfram Günther warned of consumer uncertainty in the debate on electricity and gas prices. As evidence, the Green politician cited speculation about lighting during the Christmas season on Friday. "This is a bogus debate. The federal government expressly allows Christmas lights in its savings ordinance. Christmas lights are part of the Advent season." There are good, economical solutions, such as LED lighting. "I rely on clever solutions in the municipalities. Clever handling of the topic also saves money."

In his own words, Günther also considers assumptions about a blackout to be of little help. In total, there are two to three hours of power failure in Germany every year. There is no new situation in the energy supply.
