Pirna (dpa / sn) - Christian Democrat Michael Geisler remains district administrator in the district of Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains. 54.4 percent of voters voted for him on Sunday, as the State Statistical Office informed about the preliminary result. AfD candidate Ivo Teichmann came second with 23.9 percent. 11.2 percent voted for Lutz Richter (left), and 10.5 percent for Andreas Hofmann from the far-right splinter party Freie Sachsen.
The 62-year-old Geisler used to be a biology and chemistry teacher and has been a district administrator in the region since 1994.
