In a picture taken by photographer Tyrell Hampton, Gomez has his hand on Hailey Bieber's leg. In another picture, both hug and smile at the camera.
The photos are causing a stir because they could finally dispel rumors of an alleged feud between 30-year-old Gomez and Bieber, who is five years her junior. The model married Canadian singer Justin Bieber in 2018 - just months after his years-long on-off relationship with Gomez ended. Some Gomez fans then blamed the model for the love-off between the two pop stars and heaped abuse on Hailey Bieber on social media.
The daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin stressed in a podcast at the end of September that there was no overlap between her and Gomez's relationships with Justin Bieber. Between her and her husband's ex there is "only love," she assured.
Gomez, in turn, protected her supposed rival at Tiktok shortly afterwards. The way Hailey Bieber is sometimes ranted against is not fair, she emphasized. And further: "Nobody should ever be spoken to in this way."
There were moving reactions and more than a million likes for the friendly poses that the two women are now showing in the photos: "This photo will go down in history," says several comments. Others expressed their hope that the rumors and camp formations would finally be a thing of the past.
