Skin cancer on the face: Khloé Kardashian's tumor is removed

It was just a small bump, explains Khloé Kardashian. But the skin changes on her face just wouldn't go away. An examination by the doctor then brings the certainty: It is a tumor that must be removed immediately.

Khloé Kardashian has been diagnosed with skin cancer. A tumor had been removed from her face, the 38-year-old revealed to her followers in an Instagram story. At the same time, she wanted to react to "the numerous rumors" that revolved around the patches on her face with which she was last seen.

"After noticing a small bump on my face and assuming it was something as minor as a pimple, seven months later I decided to get a biopsy," Kardashian said. After all, she hadn't noticed any change in the bump in all that time.

A few days later, she was told that immediate surgery was needed, Kardashian explains. The tumor was then removed. "You'll continue to see my patches and you'll probably see a scar (and a dent in my cheek from the tumor that was removed) but until then I hope you enjoy how fabulous I make these patches look," jokes the reality TV star.

Kardashian also uses her statement to call on her fans to get checked regularly. She also explains that it was not her first skin operation: "I had a melanoma on my back when I was 19 and I also had an operation to have it removed."

She wears sunscreen every day, but "nobody is immune to these things," Kardashian points out. Her appeal: "Please take this seriously and carry out regular self-examinations and annual examinations."

In the end, Kardashian closes her post upbeat. "I'm so grateful we realized that early on. I was lucky - all that's left is a scar to tell a story with. Most people aren't as lucky as I am and I'm forever grateful ' was her conclusion.

Khloé Kardashian is Kim Kardashian's sister. Like other members of her family, she became known in particular for the reality TV series "Keeping Up with the Kardashians".
