Jena (dpa/th) - Several hundred people protested in Jena on Saturday against the burden of the energy crisis and inflation. A union spokeswoman estimated the number of protesters at around 400. They gathered on the market square for a rally and then marched through parts of the city center in a demonstration. To the protest under the motto "
The number of participants is in the expected range, said trade unionist Monika Sossna. "But we have to involve even more social actors." Because many more people are on their feet during the Monday protests, which are organized in Thuringia by the right-wing scene. These tied in with the Corona protests and so it was possible to mobilize many people.
According to the police, around 27,000 people were involved in 36 registered and unregistered demonstrations across the country last Monday, especially in the East Thuringian AfD stronghold of Gera, the influx of these protests is large.
