Thuringia: Church in Heilbad Heiligenstadt devastated

Heilbad Heiligenstadt (dpa/th) - The Church of St. Martin in Heilbad Heiligenstadt (Eichsfeld district) has been vandalized by unknown persons. The perpetrators smeared several pillars of the church on Thursday afternoon and spilled candle wax on the floor, the police said on Friday. A glass vase and a drip tray from the holy water dispenser were also smashed. The police are looking for witnesses.
