Jena (dpa/th) - The Thuringian technology group Jenoptik is supplying further systems for speed measurement on roads to Uzbekistan. An existing project, in which more than 200 speed enforcement systems have been delivered to the Uzbek Ministry of the Interior since 2018, will be expanded, Jenoptik AG announced on Wednesday at the group's headquarters in Jena.
The follow-up order includes a further 150 systems and has a volume in the "mid-single-digit million euro range". Jenoptik did not specify an exact order value. The new contract has been expanded - in addition to speeding, other traffic violations such as illegal turns or lane changes can also be documented by the technology.
