Sömmerda (dpa/th) - Unknown perpetrators damaged the feed hoses of a farm in the Sömmerda district twice over the long holiday weekend. Damage of around 11,000 euros was caused on Sunday night and Monday night on a company site near Buttstädt, as the police announced on Tuesday.
The perpetrators first cut through a hose in such a way that the entire feed ran onto a green area and became unusable, it was said. The resulting damage was estimated at 8,000 euros. The next day they cut through a so-called silage hose again. The damage was estimated at around 3100 euros. Whether the strangers were concerned with the foil in the hoses from the start remained open. The police are investigating for theft and property damage, it said.
