'Tiny Dancer' remake?: Britney celebrates comeback with Elton John

Britney Spears has not recorded any new music since the release of her last record, Glory, in 2016. With the lifting of her guardianship, the singer is now "officially back". And she is said to have been in the recording studio with Elton John.

Britney Spears' music comeback couldn't be more dazzling: As the US site "Page Six" claims to have found out exclusively, Spears worked together with Sir Elton John. The duo secretly turned up at the Beverly Hills recording studio last week to record a new version of John's 1971 hit "Tiny Dancer."

According to the report, the song is scheduled to be released as early as August via Universal Music. "Page Six" quoted an alleged insider as saying: "It was Elton's idea and Britney is a huge fan." The new edition of "Tiny Dancer" is a "complete duet".

"They've already played it to people at their record label and everyone is freaking out. It's so good," the source said. "They say this will be the song of the summer." It continued, "Britney is officially back. She's back at work and she's super excited." The play was produced by Andrew Watt, who has worked with Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and Ozzy Osbourne and only received the Grammy for Producer of the Year in 2021.

Since her father's 13-year guardianship was officially lifted at the end of last year, Spears has repeatedly emphasized that she wanted to celebrate her comeback as a musician. Her last record "Glory" was released in 2016. Just about a week ago, she gave her followers a little taste on Instagram and sang her hit "Baby One More Time" – with a much deeper voice than usual. Accordingly, it can be eagerly awaited how "Tiny Dancer" will sound more than 50 years after its release as a duet.

However, the 40-year-old has still not completed the guardianship. As of Monday, the singer has been posting and deleting screenshots of her text messages, which she allegedly wrote to her mother Lynne and a former friend named Jensen during her 2019 psychiatric hospitalization. She accuses both of never having answered her.

In the news, Spears questions, among other things, the dosage of her antipsychotic called Seroquel, which is used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. She claims Seroquel is "a waaay stronger than lithium" - another drug she was prescribed to treat mania. "I literally feel all the sick medicine in my stomach," she wrote in another text, adding, "I feel like he's trying to kill me." It is unclear whether "he" means her doctor or her father.

Jensen then posted a screenshot of her supposed reply to Britney's message, claiming she "always felt like some of my messages were deleted." Lynne Spears also shared Jensen's screenshot on Instagram. "Britney I have 'all the conversations' too! I feel sorry for you if you feel like the people who love you the most have betrayed you," she wrote. "Let me come to you! I love you!"
