With the support of Tom Brady: Cameron Diaz announces comeback

Cameron Diaz has been pretty quiet for four years. The 'Charlie's Angels' star has taken his retirement from acting seriously - until now. Because now the 44-year-old is returning and starting with a suitable film: "Back in Action".

Cameron Diaz appears to have had enough of retirement. She is said to be back in front of the camera for a Netflix film called Back in Action. This is reported by the US industry portal "Deadline". She will star in the film alongside Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx.

According to "Deadline", nothing is known about the plot of the action comedy. However, it should already be certain that Seth Gordon will direct - from a screenplay that he co-wrote with Brendan O'Brien.

Jamie Foxx has already given a taste of the new project on Twitter. The Hollywood star posted an audio clip of a phone conversation with Diaz. She reveals that she is "so excited" but also "anxious" about getting back into acting. Diaz says, "I don't know how to do this, you know?"

She should then get tips for her return from Tom Brady, whom Foxx brings to the interview. The 44-year-old has recently become an expert on such things: The NFL star announced his retirement in February, which he reversed a few weeks later. The three stars joke about it on Twitter. What exactly Brady had to say to Diaz cannot be heard on the recording. Captioning the post, Foxx wrote: "There's no turning back. Cameron Diaz and I are back in action our new movie with Netflix. Production starts later this year!"

Cameron Diaz announced her retirement from acting in 2018. The "Charlie's Angels" star had her last film engagement in 2014 in the musical adaptation "Annie" - also alongside Jamie Foxx. Diaz has been married to musician Benji Madden since January 2015. In December 2019, they became parents to a daughter.
