Members of the Civil Guard have arrested a man this Friday in the Zaragoza town of Villanueva de Gállego for his alleged relationship with the murder of a woman, who would be his ex-partner.
Although the causes of death are being investigated, which occurred around 5:00 p.m. in the portal of some social housing in that town, of about 4,800 inhabitants, everything points to a possible case of gender violence, according to sources from the Civil Guard.
If confirmed, it would be the first case of a sexist murder that occurred in Aragon in this year 2023.
At the time of the attack, the woman was accompanied by a minor, who has been left in charge of a neighbor.
It is about the son they had in common, six years old. Apparently, the man, identified as Miguel S.C. and of Spanish origin, he has taken advantage of the fact that the woman has gone to pick him up at her house, as she did every Friday, and presumably he has murdered her with a knife in the doorway of the house. He then he has thrown the knife in a trash can.
The Government Delegation in Aragon has confirmed that the victim, named María del Carmen, was in the Viogen system, that is, that there had been a previous complaint for ill-treatment, for gender violence, but, at this time, " had expired" the restraining order and the system was inactive.
