Death by land mine: Russian political influencer dies in Donbass

Zemfira Suleimanova makes political propaganda via Tiktok, on the channel she advertises for the ultra-nationalist and imperialist party "Other Russia". While traveling in the embattled Donbass, she is killed by a landmine.

A Russian political influencer was killed by a landmine in Donbass. This is reported by several media, including the Russian agency Interfax and the Ukrainian news site "Ukrainska Pravda". The 25-year-old Zemfira Suleimanova was traveling as a political activist in Russian-occupied Donbass. A vehicle she was in drove into a "Lepestok" PFM mine in the Kirovske district, which then blew up. Suleimanova died in the hospital.

These Soviet-era "butterfly mines" are owned by both Russians and Ukrainians. Russia claims Ukraine is using the mines in Donbass. According to information from the British secret service, the mines are used by Russia.

Initially, it was said that Suleimanova was a reporter for the Russian state broadcaster RT in the region, which he denied. Suleimanova never worked for the station. Accordingly, she was on her own in the war zone.

On Tiktok, the 25-year-old advertised for the national-Bolshevik party "Other Russia", which is not officially registered in Russia. The party alliance with a hand grenade in its logo has an imperialist agenda. According to information from the Belarusian opposition medium "Nexta", "Other Russia" advocates the connection of Russian-speaking areas to Russia, such as Belarus and northern Kazakhstan and the Donbass.

The party published an obituary for the activist on Instagram. It says that she came to the Donbass a week ago to inform people about what was happening and to encourage them to do military service.
