The weather week in a quick check: "Ex-Martin" sends frost offside

After weeks of summer warmth, the coming cold air made for frosty nights. Now the weather is about to change again. Ex-Hurricane Martin brings mild temperatures up to 20 degrees.

After the partly frosty nights, the next change in the weather is now upon us. Because behind the cold air, which brought widespread ground frost and sometimes light frost in the south and east on Sunday night, for example, the wind is turning again.

A former hurricane is responsible, among other things. "Ex-Martin" is curling in west of the British Isles and in combination with low "Philomena" sends us air from south to south-west latitudes. As a result, very mild, but also at times humid air reaches Germany with sometimes strong winds.

From Thursday, the next high will be strong for our weather. That means calm autumn weather. On the mountains there is often a lot of sun and very mild values, while it stays fresher in the sometimes foggy lowlands.

A quite classic inversion position, which should also remain with us at the weekend. It is still too mild for the time of year and the onset of winter in the lowlands is not to be expected for the time being. Here are the prospects in detail.

Monday night: cloud fields are spreading

While our nice weather high from the weekend is shifting south-east, the low foothills are approaching from the west. Thus, during the night, a band of clouds will move from west to east, which will temporarily bring rain or drizzle. The lows are milder than recently. With a windy 10 to 4 degrees, frost is no longer an issue.

Monday: Southwest wind brings warmer air

In the south, away from haze or fog, it is friendly to sunny and dry. In the west and north - after a good start - new clouds will appear later, which will bring heavier rain in their luggage on the North Sea. With a brisk wind, temperatures rise to 11-17 degrees.

Tuesday: Peaks up to 20 degrees

It will remain cloudier in the west with occasional light rain or drizzle on the way. Otherwise, Tuesday will be friendlier, dry and super mild. The values climb to 13 to 19, on the Upper Rhine up to 20 degrees. The wind is still blowing strong to stormy, especially in the north-west.

Wednesday: Cooler with rain in the southwest

Especially in the south-west of our country, it will continue to be more changeable with rain. Otherwise we can expect a mix of sun and clouds with only a few showers. The temperatures drop a bit and reach 11 to 16 degrees. It is coolest under the rain clouds in the southwest, mildest with sun support in the east.

Thursday: High pressure influence increases

The day will initially bring the last few showers in the southeastern half. In the rest of the country, on the other hand, the new high is spreading and ensures more sun with peak values between 11 and 16 degrees.

Friday and weekend: Mild high-pressure weather

The last days of the weather week are autumnally calm and dry. There is most sun in the south outside of fog or high fog. The temperatures usually reach between 10 and 16 degrees - it is coolest in the thick fog, mildest with sunshine. And with similar prospects and temperatures, the weekend will continue.
