Autumn spoils us for many weeks with mild temperatures and sunshine. But now the weather is about to change. Rain showers, stormy gusts and fresh temperatures ring in the winter. In the lowlands even the first flakes are possible.
After the two highs "Charly" and "Dejan" over Eastern Europe determined our weather with lots of sun at the weekend, a weather system is now approaching over the Alps. A low in higher air layers, a so-called cold air drop, shifts from Italy at night via Switzerland to southwest Germany.
This heralds a change in the weather, which can even bring snow or sleet down to the lowlands in the course of the week. In short: the sunny autumn is going and the early winter is gradually warming up.
Monday: Partly rainy into the new week
At the start of the week, the associated clouds then covered Baden-Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland with some heavy rain showers. Otherwise nothing will change in the often sunny November weather. It will remain mild at 9 to 15 degrees.
Tuesday: Golden autumn in retreat
In the far east it will remain quite sunny for a long time. In the rest of Germany, on the other hand, more and more clouds are spreading. But some rain falls only in the west. The temperatures hardly change from 9 to 15 degrees.
Wednesday: It will be wetter and stormier
The day will be mostly cloudy with a band of rain moving from west to east. Maximum values: 6 to 14 degrees. In addition, there will be stronger south-easterly winds blowing in the north, with gusts at times stormy on the sea and on the mountains.
Thursday: Short calm
After a brief calming of the weather, new rain clouds are gathering in the western half. At the same time, cooler air is registering in the east and ensures peak values of only 5 to 9 degrees. In the west it will be 9 to 13 degrees. At the sea it is still windy with stormy gusts.
Friday: First flakes also possible at low altitudes
On Friday night, the mild, humid air in the west and south-west will meet colder air in the north-east. Some snow or sleet down to low altitudes is possible during the night and on Friday during the day, for example in the area northeast of the Elbe. Here it will only be a maximum of 3 to 7 degrees, while in the southwest it will be 8 to 12 degrees.
Weather at the weekend: autumnally cool
At the weekend there is only a little rain and gradually the sun comes through again more often and longer. The temperatures: 3 degrees in the Ore Mountains and 10 degrees on the Rhine, which is pretty normal for mid-November.
