How do technological change and social networks affect the traditional press? Is journalism experiencing a credibility crisis? Is activism distorting the informative work? How do the media contribute to political polarization? What are the main threats to freedom of expression? How to counter fake news?

The media are one of the pillars of the health of democracy. However, its task is threatened by the pressures of the powers, the unstoppable avalanche of false information spread over the internet and the mistakes of its professionals.

To discuss these issues, EL MUNDO and La Lectura, its cultural magazine, have organized the meeting "Journalism in the spotlight."
