Kylie Minogue: "Neighbours"-Cameo macht Fans emotional

Pure nostalgia! The final episode of Australian soap opera Neighbors aired this week in 37 years. In the 1980s, pop star Kylie Minogue (54) celebrated her breakthrough with the series. For the final episode, the Aussie star did the honors again and returned for a guest appearance. The UK fans who watched the series finale on Friday night (July 29) were taken back to their youth thanks to Minogue. On Twitter, some shared their emotional farewells to "Neighbors."

"Like many others, I haven't watched 'Neighbours' in years, but it was a HUGE part of my teenage life. While I have no idea what's happening, I watch the finale of 'Neighbours' and love it," wrote a user.

"'Neighbours' has been such an important part of my life. I've spent so many years watching it with people who are very important to me. It's a tragedy that the show is ending, but what a wonderful, beautiful one Way to say goodbye. Thank you for 37 amazing years Neighbors," commented another user on the finale.

The fans were also emotional on Instagram - but well prepared for the final. The official Neighbors account shared several fan posts in their stories. These included Neighbors-inspired nail art, Ramsay Street t-shirts and bottles of rose wine from Minogue's beverage brand.

Kylie Minogue returned as her character Charlene Robinson for the final episode of the beloved show. Jason Donovan (54) as Scott Robinson was also seen at her side. Guy Pearce (54) also insisted on appearing as Mike Young one last time. The Australian actress Margot Robbie (32) also began her acting career on "Neighbors" – however, the Hollywood star could not come for the finale.

"It feels great and surreal and emotional," Minogue explains in an Instagram clip for the Neighbors account. When asked what "Neighbours" meant to her, the musician replied, "It's a feeling. It's historical. It was part of growing up."

"Neighbors" has a total of 8,903 episodes. As "Variety" reports, around 1.2 million people in Australia tuned in for the final. According to the Network 10 broadcaster, this was the best viewer rating in 13 years.
