The chief executive of the Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband criticized Finance Minister Christian Lindner (FDP) in the discussion about the 9-euro ticket. Lindner had previously rejected financing for a follow-up solution to the 9-euro ticket. The FDP politician said he was not convinced of a "free mentality à la unconditional basic income" in local public transport either.
Lindner had argued that rural people would subsidize cheap local transport. "It would be the task of politics to expand local passenger transport in rural areas and not to say that it would be unfair if one had a bus and the other didn't," said Schneider. He also advertised a 365-euro ticket. That is ecologically and socially sensible.
