Baden-Württemberg: man robbed at night on the platform: suspects in custody

Leimen (dpa / lsw) - They are said to have robbed a man at a train station in the Rhein-Neckar district and injured him with brass knuckles: Two 18-year-olds were taken into custody for serious robbery and dangerous bodily harm.

The man was waiting for a train at Sandhausen/Sankt Ilgen station in Leimen last Saturday at around 1.20 a.m. and was asked there by two initially unknown persons to hand over his money, police and public prosecutors said on Thursday.

In order to emphasize their claim, one of the two suspects is said to have hit the victim on the head with brass knuckles. The other is said to have hugged the victim, pulled his purse containing several hundred euros in cash from his pocket and took the money.

The two young men are said to have pushed the victim to the ground and kicked him. The victim reportedly sustained serious head and body injuries. The two suspects initially fled on foot, but were later located by the police.

Since there was a risk of absconding, arrest warrants were issued against the two 18-year-olds at the request of the Heidelberg public prosecutor. A magistrate enforced it.
