Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The Bundesliga soccer team VfB Stuttgart is threatened with the loss of Konstantinos Mavropanos. The defender has only trained individually this week after being substituted in the 2-2 draw against FC Bayern Munich last matchday. Before the home game on Saturday (3:30 p.m. / Sky) against the Champions League participant Eintracht Frankfurt, Mavropanos could at least complete the final training again, said VfB trainer Pellegrino Matarazzo two days before the game. After that a decision should be made.
Right-back Josha Vagnoman will definitely not be in the squad. The new signing is out with bone edema in his metatarsus and attacker Luca Pfeiffer has yet to sit out a game due to a suspension. Tanguy Coulibaly and Nikolas Nartey, on the other hand, can get involved in the units without restrictions and are therefore options for the squad, said Matarazzo.
After five draws and one defeat, VfB are still waiting for their first sense of achievement this season. But the performance shown in Munich could be built on, said the coach of the 14th in the table. "We want to build on that and get our first home win," said Matarazzo, who expects a "very strong" Eintracht.
