Bavaria: Drunk triggers police operation in the S-Bahn: arrest

Gauting (dpa / lby) - A drunken man triggered a police operation due to his conspicuous behavior in a Munich S-Bahn. Travelers reported a "man with a knife" on Sunday from the moving train near Gauting (Starnberg district), the police said. The officers overpowered the 46-year-old and arrested him temporarily. After consultation with the public prosecutor's office and completion of the police measures, the man was released again.

According to initial investigations, the 46-year-old is said to have threatened and racially insulted two passengers. The man also had a cutlery knife in his backpack. So far, however, there is no evidence that he held the knife in his hand on the train.

The 46-year-old homeless man was known to the police before the incident. In April, the man threatened passengers on an S-Bahn on the same line and then shouted loudly through the train that he had a bomb and was going to detonate it. In both cases, the man was clearly under the influence of alcohol. The 46-year-old is now being investigated for threats and insults.
