Vreden (dpa / lnw) - Five people were seriously injured in a collision at an intersection in Vreden (Borken district) on Sunday. A 38-year-old and a 60-year-old driver collided with their vehicles there, the police said on Sunday evening. The 60-year-old's car was so badly damaged that he was trapped in the car. The 70-year-old passenger of the 60-year-old and two children aged four and 14, who were also in the car, should also have been freed. Everyone involved was taken to the hospital.
An uninvolved car and a traffic light were damaged by flying vehicle parts, it said. The cause of the accident was initially unclear.
