Saxony-Anhalt: Criticism from Saxony-Anhalt on the successor to the 9-euro ticket

Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - the CDU and left-wing factions have criticized the planned successor to the 9-euro ticket. "I rate that very critically because I think we have completely different concerns at the moment," said CDU faction leader Guido Heuer on Monday with a view to energy security. With such a ticket, the distance between rural areas and urban centers increases. The ticket is a "Lex Großstadt".

The traffic light coalition of SPD, Greens and FDP in the federal government had announced that the 9-euro ticket should have a nationwide successor in the price range of 49 to 69 euros a month. The federal states should contribute to the financing.

FDP faction leader Andreas Silbersack said that you have to talk to the federal government about it. Saxony-Anhalt is not in a position "to bear the burden in any significant way". Strong federal support is needed. In principle, however, it is good if the patchwork of different tariffs is ended.

The SPD parliamentary group in Magdeburg Parliament also welcomes the fact that there should be a follow-up regulation. Such a ticket would relieve the users of local public transport significantly, said the parliamentary managing director Rüdiger Erben. He assumes that the additional burden for the country will be less than some feared.

Left faction leader Eva von Angern said that the ticket would relieve many workers. But: "We need a continuation of this 9-euro ticket." Only then would people on low incomes be able to enjoy the mobility of the past three months. Green parliamentary group leader Cornelia Lüddemann spoke out in favor of a 49-euro ticket.

The traffic light coalition presented a third relief package on Sunday. One part is a successor to the 9-euro ticket. The federal government wants to subsidize 1.5 billion euros if the states pay at least as much.
