Jena (dpa/th) - Around 10,000 visitors immersed themselves in the wide world of science in Jena on Friday evening. The organizers summed up that the Long Night of Sciences succeeded in building on the strong demand of 2019. According to the information, the visitors were offered 450 events by more than 40 institutions until midnight. In addition to the university, these included the German Aerospace Center, the Jenoptik company, the German Patent and Trademark Office and various Max Planck and Leibniz Institutes in the city. Topics such as climate change, dealing with large amounts of data and measuring black holes in space were discussed.

The next Long Night of Sciences in Jena is planned in two years.
