Baden-Württemberg: 200,000 euros in damage in an apartment fire – probably a candle trigger

Engen (dpa / lsw) - According to initial findings, an Advent candle caused a fire in an apartment in Engen (district of Constance). The 81-year-old resident and her two-year-old husband were taken to a hospital with smoke inhalation, police said on Thursday. A resident of the apartment building had alerted the emergency services. The damage to the apartment is estimated at around 200,000 euros.
