Offenburg (dpa / lsw) - A 24-year-old man died in a swimming accident in Offenburg's Gifiz Lake. During a search of several hours for the man, numerous rescue workers and two helicopters were deployed, as reported by the police in Offenburg (Ortenaukreis).
The man had already stayed at the lake with another man during the night and bathed there. A witness then noticed the companion calling on Friday morning, who was looking for his missing friend. Divers eventually discovered the 24-year-old's body in the lake. The background to the incident initially remained open. The police took over the investigation.
