Baden-Württemberg: Adler react: MacInnis should replace injured Gaudet

Mannheim (dpa / lsw) - The Adler Mannheim have reacted to the injury of ice hockey professional Tyler Gaudet. Ryan MacInnis is to replace the center forward with his leg, as the club from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) announced on Tuesday. MacInnis was part of the Buffalo Sabers organization last season before signing with Russian club Amur Khabarovsk.

"After Tyler's failure, we had to act in the very important center position," said sports manager Jan-Axel Alavaara about the 26-year-old, whose father Al won the Stanley Cup with the Calgary Flames in 1989. "Ryan fits the profile we set out exactly. He's a solid two-way striker who's reliable on both sides. With him we'll be able to better compensate for Tyler's absence."
