Baden-Württemberg: allegations of abuse against pastors in the Ostalb deanery

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - A pastor from the Ostalb deanery has been released by Bishop Gebhard Fürst because of allegations of abuse. According to the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart, there are allegations against the head pastor of a pastoral care unit for encroachment and border violations. The diocese initially did not provide any further information on the allegations.

The allegations became known through a letter from altar boys and girls from the three parishes of the pastoral care unit to the head of pastoral staff in the diocese, it said. He had already traveled to the pastoral unit for talks on Monday. A lawyer had also started the first surveys of those affected.

According to the information, the accused pastor is not allowed to take on any priestly or pastoral services until further notice and is also no longer allowed to celebrate church services. The Ostalb deanery comprises 25 pastoral care units in the Ostalb district.
