Baden-Württemberg: emergency braking: the train driver prevents an accident at the level crossing

Endingen (dpa / lsw) - A drunk driver simply left his vehicle in the dark at a level crossing in southern Baden and almost caused a serious accident. As the police reported on Monday, a train driver triggered an emergency brake and brought his train to a standstill in time. People were not harmed in the incident on Sunday evening in Endingen (Emmendingen district). The 79-year-old driver drove his car off the road at the crossing and got stuck in the track bed. An alcohol test gave the man a value of around 1.3 per mille.
