Vienna (dpa/lsw) - Bundesliga handball team Frisch Auf Göppingen meets TBV Lemgo Lippe in a German duel in the second qualifying round of the European League. That was the result of the draw on Tuesday at the European Handball Federation (EHF) in Vienna. The winners of the two legs advance to the group stage of Europe's second-biggest club competition, which begins on October 25.
"Especially with a view to Europe, that's obviously not the lot that gives you that European Cup feeling. In addition, TBV is one of the strongest clubs that were in the lottery pot," said Göppingen's sporting director Christian Schöne. This Wednesday (7:05 p.m. / Sky) both teams will compete against each other in the Handball Bundesliga (HBL).
