Halle (dpa/sa) - The prices for building land in Saxony-Anhalt have risen sharply in some cases. The average purchase price last year was around 37.22 euros per square meter, as reported by the State Statistical Office in Halle on Tuesday. In Halle, the average purchase price for land ready for construction was EUR 284.98 per square meter, up 62.36 percent on the previous year. In the state capital Magdeburg, the purchase value was 175.14 euros - after 125.93 euros in the previous year. In the independent city of Dessau-Roßlau it was 94.26 euros per square meter, in 2020 it was 66.31 euros.

According to the statistical authority, land ready for construction had the largest share in the purchase values ​​for building land with a good 80 percent of the purchases. The national average was 67.13 euros per square meter. The cheapest was the change of ownership in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel at 21.90 euros per square meter.

The purchase values ​​of raw building land - i.e. usually undeveloped areas - and commercially used building land were also included in the statistics for building land prices. In all segments, prices increased by a significant double-digit percentage.
